A Surprise Gift
It was a rather sleepy Christmas, after the late night caroling. Nat was wearing a very pretty skirt for the occassion. I, however, slept through the entire Christmas sermon, oblivious to the church goers.
In a rare show of unity, CBC Youth congregated in Nandos for lunch. Was quite disappointed as I didn’t get to sit beside Nat. She was sandwiched between her girlfriends in the usual join-all-the-table setting and I got displaced to sit with less familiar faces. They tried to be friendly but I wasn’t in the mood to entertain. A few exhausting caroling nights took a toll on me this afternoon.
Just prior to midnight, a RM50 Digi reload coupon was bought for Nat’s birthday pressie. I thought I could surprise her with an anonymous reload. She would get the message that her credit’s been added and die with curiousity trying to find out who did it. Sadly I couldn’t. There was no Digi number to call for the reload, instead one has to use the same phone and key in a particular combination.
Desperately I created a bogus Hotmail account and e-mailed her the reload key. Prayed really hard she would ‘fall’ for the mail and get her 50 bucks of reload. All in anticipation for Nat’s 18th birthday tomorrow.
